Description
| This deposit contains all core images, logs, radiographs, codes, and data needed to run analysis and produce figures from McKeon et al. (2026), North Pacific extreme storms reconstructed with a novel approach to estimating storm frequency and uncertainty. Raw and processed XRF, grain size, Pb-210, radiocarbon, and meteorological data are provided here. The results of all analysis are also provided in this data deposit. The final stratigraphy is a combination of four cores: VC42, VC31, JPC05, JPC04. Data located in the "codes" folder is all with respect to the final stratigraphy. Data in other folders is organized by core section. The "JPC05_Composite_Grainsize.xlsx" spreadsheet details which sections of each individual core comprise the final composite. |

Notes
| Ocean Instruments RIC 5500 was used to collect vibracores. Jumbo Piston Core was used to collect piston cores. GeoTek RXCT scanner was used to obtain radiographs. Itrax XRF scanner was used to get XRF data. Malvern Mastersizer 3000 Particle Size Analyzer was used for grainsize data. HOBO water level loggers were used for water level. Lowell Instruments Tiltmeters were used for current. SOFAR Spotter V2 wave buoys were used for wave data. Leica StereoMicroscope and an iPhone were used for images. |
